The Serenity Prayer (in full)

O God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time. Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. Taking, as he did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.

Trusting that he will make all things right if I surrender to his will; that I may be reasonably happy in this world and supremely happy with him forever.  Amen.

Attributed to Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

Something is missing in the Serenity Prayer!

What is missing is how to find the wisdom to know the difference.  Fortunately, there is an ancient Christian teaching that reveals how to see clearly what to do when we are stuck, frustrated or unhappy. It is called The First Rule of Inner Peace.   Now you can read it in a short concise e-book.  Based on 18 years of experience by leadership expert John Kuypers, it is available on Kindle and other e-readers everywhere.  Get three free chapters at KuypersLeadership.com today.
